By accessing or utilizing the Wookii mobile application or website, you agree to comply with the following Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Wookii Terms of Service
1. Eligibility
- Users must be at least 18 years old or have legal guardian consent to use Wookii.
- By registering, you warrant that all provided information is accurate, current, and complete.
- Falsification of details may result in account suspension or termination.
2. User Accounts
- You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- Immediate notification to Wookii support is required upon discovering any unauthorized access or use.
- Wookii is not liable for losses arising from compromised accounts due to user negligence.
3. Artisan Services
- Wookii operates as a marketplace facilitating connections between users and artisans, not as a direct service provider.
- Wookii does not guarantee the quality, timeliness, or outcome of services rendered by artisans.
- Disputes regarding service delivery must be addressed through Wookii’s formal dispute resolution process.
- Addition: Service Agreements – Upon booking, a temporary service agreement is generated outlining job scope, timeline, and payment terms, binding both parties to Wookii’s standards.
4. Payments and Escrow
- Wookii employs a blockchain-secured escrow system to protect both parties.
- Funds are held in escrow and released to artisans only upon customer confirmation of satisfactory job completion.
- All transactions must occur exclusively through the Wookii platform; external payments are prohibited.
- Addition: Payment Disputes – In cases of payment disagreements, users must initiate a dispute within 48 hours of job completion for review.
5. Fees
- Wookii levies a transparent commission on completed transactions, with rates varying by service category.
- Full fee details are disclosed prior to payment confirmation, with no hidden charges.
- Commission rates are subject to periodic review and adjustment.
6. Booking and Cancellation Policy
- Booking Process:
- Users initiate bookings by selecting a service, reviewing artisan profiles, and confirming availability.
- A service agreement is auto-generated, detailing job scope, timeline, and cost, which both parties must accept.
- Payments are placed in escrow upon booking confirmation.
- Cancellation by Customer:
- Cancellations are permitted with at least 24 hours’ notice without penalty, subject to artisan confirmation.
- Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled job incur a 10% fee, unless the artisan is unavailable or at fault.
- Requests must be submitted via the Wookii app under “Manage Bookings.”
- Cancellation by Artisan:
- Artisans may cancel with valid reasons (e.g., illness, double-booking) with 12 hours’ notice, incurring no penalty.
- Late cancellations by artisans may result in account penalties or suspension, with full refunds issued to customers.
- Refunds:
- Refunds are processed if services are not delivered as agreed, subject to dispute resolution within 48 hours.
- Wookii evaluates refund requests case-by-case, with funds returned to the original payment method within 5 business days.
- No-Shows:
- No-shows by artisans trigger automatic refunds and may lead to account deactivation.
- Customer no-shows forfeit the 10% cancellation fee if within 24 hours.
7. Prohibited Activities
- Users must not engage in:
- Posting inaccurate, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Discriminatory behavior, harassment, or abusive conduct.
- Illegal activities, including fraud, money laundering, or unauthorized transactions.
- Violation of these prohibitions may lead to account termination and legal action.
8. Termination
- Wookii reserves the unilateral right to suspend or terminate accounts for breaches of these Terms.
- Terminated users lose access to services, and no refunds are guaranteed for prepaid fees.
- Appeals against termination may be submitted to support@wookii.com within 7 days.
9. Updates to Terms
- Wookii may amend these Terms at its discretion, with updates posted on the platform.
- Continued use of Wookii following modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
- Users are encouraged to review Terms periodically for changes.
10. Intellectual Property
- All content, trademarks, and software associated with Wookii are proprietary and protected by law.
- Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is strictly prohibited.
- Addition: User-Generated Content – Content uploaded by users (e.g., reviews, photos) grants Wookii a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use for promotional purposes, with attribution where feasible.
11. Limitation of Liability
- Wookii is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use.
- Maximum liability, if any, is limited to the amount paid by the user for the affected service.
- Addition: Third-Party Services – Wookii is not responsible for damages caused by third-party services linked through the platform.
12. Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by Nigerian law, with disputes resolved in Lagos jurisdiction.
- Addition: Arbitration – Prior to legal action, parties must attempt mediation; binding arbitration applies if mediation fails.
13. Force Majeure
- Addition: Wookii is not liable for delays or failures due to unforeseen events (e.g., natural disasters, government actions) beyond its control, with notifications provided to affected users.
14. Compliance and Reporting
Addition: Users must comply with all applicable Nigerian laws, including tax obligations. Wookii may report illegal activities to authorities.
